Microsoft to launch Office 365 in June

Microsoft's Steve Ballmer has announced that Office 365 is to 'launch in the month of June'. It's not clear whether this a limited launch in selected territories or a general launch, but it does flag the long-awaited release from Beta.

We're pushing hard in the productivity space. We'll launch our Office 365 cloud service, which gives you Lync and Exchange and SharePoint and Office and more as a subscribable service that comes from the cloud. That launches in the month of June.

We've done a lot of work on infrastructure for building this new type of cloud application that I discussed, Windows Azure and SQL Azure in the public cloud.
